Rural Hawkes Bay has many old stations, and this homestead is a magnificent example of the former glory of rural NZ. The two storey homestead is made from beautiful native timbers, which the current owners are restoring to their original splendor. The house was abandoned in 1953 following the tragic death of the owner, and bought in 2000 by the current owners, just before it was due for demolition. The result of their hard work, is a stunning home that would have been a real crime to have lost. It is possible to visit and enjoy looking around after relaxing on the verandah with the traditional Victorian cream tea.
